Church Counsel

 Church Law

At the Story Law Firm, PLLC, one of our areas of practice is Church Law. Our goal is “Church Law Simplified.” Started by Attorney Travis W. Story, Church Counsel was born out of his passion to protect the church and its pastor. Although available for litigation when required, the goal is to offer proactive protection through many services that can assist churches of any size.

Through online video series, much information is offered free of charge, allowing churches to obtain help quickly and easily. Other video series, labeled “Essentials,” are offered at a reduced cost and include some attorney time by phone. And of course, if needed, we are available as a full-service law firm.

Start your church on a firm foundation with our CHURCH START-UP series. Insure that your church structure is on solid ground legally with the BY-LAW MODIFICATION series. Our JOB DESCRIPTION courses will save you time and maximize results, all while making sure you are up to date on church employment law. Make sure you know how the law applies to policies you create as you develop an EMPLOYEE HANDBOOK. Learn how to create a solid plan and have a team ready to respond to any crisis with our CRISIS MANAGEMENT series. Protect the tithes and offerings given by your members by creating a custom GIVING POLICY that is designed for your church. Use social media to your advantage while protecting your church from lawsuits with a SOCIAL MEDIA POLICY that is drafted for your unique situation. Protect your church by monitoring the backgrounds of those you are entrusting to take care of your members and guests with an exceptional system for BACKGROUND CHECKS.
